About Salt & Straw
Sitting at the base of the San Gabriel mountains just northeast of downtown Los Angeles, Pasadena encapsulates a magic mix of old-world and modern charm. Our shop is located in Old Pasadena, the city's historic district for shopping and dining, beloved for its rich history, incredible architecture, and a warmth you can feel. We hope to capture that same feeling in our shop. Don't miss out on what Pasadena is most known for: its New Year's Day Rose Parade and Rose Bowl Game.

American bakeries range from wholesale operations that supply restaurants to neighborhood shops that sell bread, pastries, cookies and cakes over the counter, and many of them also pour coffee. Bagel shops boil and bake on site and sell out of favorite flavors by late morning; donut shops open before dawn and are often family-run; patisseries and cake studios take custom orders for weddings and birthdays and usually need one to two weeks' notice. Ice cream parlors, gelato shops and frozen yogurt bars are seasonal in the northern states and year-round in the South and on the West Coast. Prices are posted per item, by the dozen or by the pound, and most shops now take cards and mobile payment.

Pasadena is in California, on the West Coast, where the climate ranges from foggy coast to hot inland valleys, wildfire season can affect air quality in late summer, and traffic is the main thing to plan around. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Pasadena follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

A classic ice cream shop in the middle of the city of Pasadena. I'd say this is one of the best ice cream shops around and for good reason. They've always been a shop that's good with first impressions. They're clean and when you enter, you'll see the cabin mixed vibes with a bit of modern. Staff here is great, I'd say the standard is to try at least 3 different ice cream flavors before picking your choice, however of course, you can flavor as many as you like. My wife and I love their mint choco flavor here as well as their vanilla, among many of their rotating flavors. They have plenty of unique flavors like blue cheese which surprisingly is not too bad, but the options are endless. Highly recommend checking this shop out, and recommend downloading their app as well for rewards. Simple and quick ice cream shop, very delicious and definitely a shop to check out even if you're a local.

Came in for ice cream after having lunch. My first time here. There wa slime up but not too bad. Just waited 5-10mins. Good thing about this place was I was able to try samples for ice cream. I ordered something with chocolate. I really enjoyed the flavor.

There are many shops in Pasadena that itβs hard to choose but if youβre looking for some seasonal flavors as well as standard ones then this is a spot for you. Iβve tried many of their flavors and they never disappointed me and the service here is pretty consistent. Thereβs a couple of seats available if youβre lucky to get one so itβs more of a grab and go shop. Thereβs parking on the street as well as a parking garage nearby. So if youβre looking a shop with unique seasonal flavors and basic ones then check this place out when in the area.

She got a double on a waffle cone with the honey lavender and malted something cookie dough. I got a single of gooey chocolate brownie on a waffle cone. I wish it were served just a little more frozen as on a 87Β° day in Pasadena, it tends to melt a little quicker than I can eat it. Love the flavors. The people are so sweet. Awesome every time.

This Salt & Straw location is just as good as the one in Anaheim (Downtown Disney District). I came here with a group on a Monday evening (like 9:30pm). The guy that took care of us was 10/10, I think his name was Moussa. Overall a solid dude. I had a wafer cone with two flavors: double-folded vanilla and another flavor that tasted just like cereal milk. The portion was also big. The ambiance is great and it's also helped by the fact that it's in a prime location in Old Town Pasadena. Highly recommended place for your ice cream cravings!
